The most problems installers have with gates are the lack of good gate post construction.
We recommend the below example and that you should bury as much post as is above ground. Your hole for the gate post should be at least 36" and filled with concrete. This should be used even with light aluminum gates because of ground heave and cantilever effect of the gate itself .
